A Trial Flight is an excellent introduction to flying and makes an unforgettable gift for a  special occasion or a loved one. A flying instructor will guide you, or the recipient of the gift voucher, through a first experience of controlling a light aeroplane in the sky above our beautiful island. 

 

Our Trial Flights are available

for 1 budding pilot or 1 budding pilot + a guest,

depending on the selected aeroplane. 

 

You can choose between 3 routes, with different durations, but 

we can also tailor a longer trial flight to include your ideas.. 

 

The longer flight trial flight circumnavigates the entire Manx coastline,

including the Calf of Man and Point of Ayre. 

 

The shorter trial flight explores half of the Manx coastline.  

You can schoose either the centre & south of the Isle of Man

(Douglas - Onchan - Peel - Port Erin - The Calf of Man - Port St Mary- Castletown)

or the centre & north of the Isle of Man

(Douglas - Laxey - Ramsey - Ballaugh - Peel - Castletown). 

 

       After meeting your Flying Instructor and receiving a safety briefing, you will get comfortable in the aeroplane and set off for an amazing experience. We try to incorporate any places

that are of interest to you into the route, within ATC and other limitations.

 

             During the lesson, you will take control of the aircraft and fly the aeroplane under the guidance of your instructor. Towards the end of the flight, you will head back towards Castletown and start the descent to the airport, giving you a pilot's viewpoint of the runway, which you may not have experienced before. Moments later you’ll be on the ground, 

taxiing back to the flying school.

 

The block time can be logged towards the hours required to gain a Pilot Licence.

 

We suggest that you wear comfortable clothes and sensible shoes for your flight.

 

Due to our changeable weather, please confirm with us on the day,  that conditions are suitable and that your flight can go ahead, and please bring photo ID and your gift voucher.

 

The shorter Trial Flight costs from £200.00

 

The longer Trial Flight costs from £260.00

'The Trial Flight Guide', for £7.50, which explains what to expect durig the flight?
