Trial Flights
A Trial Flight is an excellent introduction to flying and makes an unforgettable gift for a special occasion or a loved one. A fllying instructor will guide you, or the recipient of the gift voucher, through a first experience of controlling a
light aeroplane in the sky above our beautiful island.
Our Trial Flights are available for 1 or 2 budding pilots at a time, depending on the aeroplane you select.
You can choose a duration of 45 or 60 minutes.
After meeting your Flying Instructor and receiving a safety briefing, you will get comfortable in the aeroplane and set off for an amazing experience. We will discuss the route with you prior to departure and try to incorporate
any landmarks or your own house into the route, within ATC and other limitations.
Once airborne, you will have some wonderful views of the Isle of Man and have the opportunity to look at places you are interested in from the air.
During the lesson, you will take control of the aircraft and fly the aeroplane under the careful watch of your instructor.
Near the end of the flight, you will head back towards Castletown and start
the descent to the airport, giving you a pilot's viewpoint of the runway,
which you may not have experienced before. Moments later you’ll be on the ground, taxiing back to the flying school.
The flight time can be logged towards the hours
required to gain a Private Pilots Licence .
We suggest that you wear comfortable clothes and sensible shoes for your flight.
Due to our changeable weather, please confirm with us before setting off to the airport on the day, that conditions are suitable and that your flight can go ahead.

A 60 minute Trial Flight costs from £260.00
Why not add a pilot logbook for £15, to record the trial flight, or a booklet called 'The Trial Flight Guide', for £7.50, which explains what to expect durig the flight?
